  <intro>Waste management represents a &#163;4 billion sector and continues to remain a high profile subject for both authorities and their residents. Challenges in alternative waste collection and treatment methods, increasing disposal costs through the Landfill Tax and rising customer expectations mean that local authorities need to become more efficient and the WRMP helps to support and deliver these changes.</intro>
  <objectives>The work within the WRMP theme is made up of 17 projects and these are managed through four programmes:

* Programme 2 &#8211; Service Delivery
* Programme 3 &#8211; Strategic Support
