Regional Spend Analysis
The regional spend analysis actively encourages local authorities to conduct analysis of their external spend. IESE (through Wealden District Council) let a framework contract with two suppliers and encourages all local authorities in the south east to access this agreement to ensure their spend analysis is current.
What did we set out to achieve?
- Gain a thorough understanding of external spend from a district, unitary and county perspective
- Identify collaborative procurement opportunities and targeted spend areas to release cashable savings
- Facilitate greater understanding of core suppliers in the south east and where a collaborative approach could mean increased market opportunities for local authorities
What have we achieved so far?
- Over 40 local authorities in the south east have utilised the framework since 2006
- Commissioned activity to aggregate the data so far to create profiles of regional spend
- Targeted workshop with West Kent Collaborative Group to identify collaborative procurement opportunities
