Procurement

The procurement theme aims to work with local authorities in south east to ensure they have access, the capability, capacity and knowledge necessary to make intelligent procurement decisions.
What did we set out to achieve?
- Enable 3% or greater savings for local authorities
- Increasecapacity for strategic procurement and facilitate £65m annual efficiency savings for the region
- Stimulate procurement hubs and use of ’best deals’
- Create a comprehensive region wide contracts and opportunities database
What have we achieved so far?
- Actively supporting procurement hubs in each of the six sub-regions with projected benefits of millions of pounds
- South East Business Portal and the Best Deals Service enabled £2m for the region and additional non cashable benefits whilst being firmly embedded in local authority practice
- Regional spend analysis exercise commissioned to identify collaborative procurement opportunities to release additional savings and efficiencies for the south east
How can your council get involved?
In year two we expect to enable £5million savings for councils.
Please email momtaz.islam@southeastiep.gov.uk if you are not yet benefiting from our projects. We have case studies, training and individual support to offer.
