IESE Conference and Awards Ceremony
Date: Thursday 04/03/10 Location: The Church House Conference Centre, London Cost: Free
IESE have seen vast achievements in local authorities in the South East region. It is apt therefore that IESE have decided to hold an Awards Ceremony, following their annual conference on the 4th March at Church House Conference Centre, Westminster, London
Key speakers:
Bob Neil MP
Charles Leadbeater
William Jordan, Chief Sustainability & Operating Officer, OGC
Peter Gilroy, Chief Executive Kent County Council
Description
The awards include Connecting People, to be awarded to the council that can demonstrate the most effective improvement in furthering the ability of local people to access valuable services and connect with each other professionally and socially.
There is also an award for a Local Hero, the fire and police service of the year, and a special Chairman’s Award for an outstanding authority or individual. The council of the year and the cultural champion of the region will be awarded alongside those councils demonstrating effective innovations, efficiencies and improvements.
The event will include the presentation of the awards as well as dinner and distinguished speakers. Attendees include winning project teams from local councils in the South East, senior officers, councillors and MPs.
IESE Chairman of the Member Board, Councillor Paul Bettison, Leader of Bracknell Forest Council, says “I’m extremely proud of what IESE and South East councils have achieved over the last two years of business and very much looking forward to rewarding the hard work of everyone involved at the awards ceremony. I think it will be an inspirational event for councils over the region and no doubt will be a great motivator for continuing the great work in the future.”
