Shared Services

This project aims to develop a prospectus for HR shared services between Hampshire County Council and four District Councils. It follows work through the New Hampshire Senate to drive improved two tier working.

What did we set out to achieve?

• Five authorities will develop a consistent framework for a range of HR shared services at different levels
• To develop the framework in a way that ensures other partners, particularly other districts in Hampshire, can join at a later date
• Deliver further shared HR services in an already successful service area
• Build on past HIOWLA-funded projects through joint working and commitment through Hampshire Senate
• Use the project model to progress other priority areas, particularly Legal Services

What have we achieved so far?

• Initial authorities have signed up to the project, and funding has been secured

How can your council benefit?

We expect to have delivered the HR shared service prospectus by 1 April 2010.
