Member development

This project aims to ensure that members have access to skills and knowledge development to ensure that they can operate effectively and provide sound leadership.

What did we set out to achieve?

• Devolution of responsibility to local service providers
• Enable Fire and Rescue services to respond to the changing working environment
• Enable Fire and Rescue services to respond to changing working dynamics in the public private and voluntary sectors

What have we achieved so far?

• Identified the main project and improvement elements

How can your council benefit?

There are three elements to this project: a members’ away-day in October on the subject of Regional Control Centre; support to the Isle of Wight to continue their improvement programme; and support to the Elected Members’ Development Charter.
