Sustainable Prosperity and Berkshire Economic Strategy Board
This project will raise the level of understanding and debate amongst councillors and senior officers, with a view to achieving consensus at a sub-regional level about policies that need to be reviewed in order to deliver truly sustainable prosperity. The work programme will focus on NI 185 & 186 CO2 emission reductions and on the work of the Strategic Housing Group.
What did we set out to achieve?
- Deliver improved capacity to respond to the sub-regional economic development agenda
- Agree action plans for NI 185 and 186 CO2 emission reductions
- Provide strategic support via the BESB
What have we achieved so far?
- We have published the following reports:
- State of the Sub-Region report (January 2008);
- Sustainable Economic Prosperity Strategy (February 2009);
- Berkshire Climate Change Audit (March 2009).
- Put in place governance for the sustainable prosperity sub-group
- Agreed a baseline position on NI 185 and 186, and shared this between all six authorities
