Buckinghamshire Self Funders

Created at: Thursday 14/01/10 | 1 documents

A significant percentage of adults who fund their own care find that their assets are quickly absorbed through inefficient spending and are forced to hand over funding responsibility to the council.

The cost pressure of these individuals on Buckinghamshire’s council resources alone is approximately £2m every year and demographic changes mean that a larger number of people will, in due course, require long term care.

IESE has funded Buckinghamshire Council to develop this self-funders project. The project seeks to provide independent financial advice to self-funding adults requiring social care ensuring individuals have the information necessary to spend wisely and ensure their assets will last through their term of care.
