Adult Social Care and Services for Children
The Adult and Social Care and Services for Children can help your council improve your CAA report rating in social care and children’s services, as well as enabling you to make cashable savings and vast improvements to your services.
What did we set out to achieve?
- Enable 4% or greater savings for local authorities
- Reduce social worker turnover in children’s pilot sites from 17% to 12%
- Develop preventative measures to tackle the cost of an ageing population
- Improve safeguarding of children in the south east
- Pilot technology solutions to meet the needs of a changing environment and government policy
What have we achieved so far?
- Enabled councils to save £5million in year one
- Enabled councils using our Care Funding Calculator to save, on average, 15% on care placements
- Supporting councils to develop groundbreaking projects including: social care passports for older prisoners; supporting people with extremely high needs into employment; and a mobile telecare unit.
How can your council get involved?
In year two we expect to enable £2.5million savings for councils.

Buckinghamshire Self FundersA significant percentage of adults who fund their own care find that their assets are quickly absorbed through inefficient spending and are forced to hand over funding responsibility to the council. The cost pressure of these individuals on Buckinghamshire’s council resources alone is approximately £2m every year and demographic changes mean that a larger number of people will, in due course, require long term care. IESE has funded Buckinghamshire Council to develop this self-funders project. The project seeks to provide independent financial advice to self-funding adults requiring social care ensuring individuals have the information necessary to spend wisely and ensure their assets will last through their term of care. |
